We had a quick chat with Lil Nasty  ahead of the release of his  ‘Why So Serious Ep’ and the launch of Nasty By Nature snap backs.

What have you been up to since your last release?

I’ve been hard at work in the studio recording for my album and the ‘Why So Serious’ Ep which is out on 30th April. I’m going to be dropping net video’s for a few of the tracks on Nasty By Nature TV   and a full tv video for Green Goblin’s.

For the EP I’ve been working with known producers like Teddy and SX as well as up and coming ones like Flarve and DJ Myrikal. Artist wise I’ve collaborated with Lady Leshurr, JME, Marger and Sharkey Major

I also did the Hoods up Remix with Teddy and a bag of other Mcs which came out on monday

What have been your highlights of the last 6 months?

Eskimo Dance was a great experience, having the whole scene under one roof with such a big crowd and prove grime music still has the best energy live.  I was genuinely surprised to get such a great a reaction from the crowd and I’d definitely recommend people to get the DVD.

Last weekend I went to Prague with Marger and Logan Sama. I’d played out there last year in a small club and this time it was a sold out 2000 capacity venue. The fans out there are amazing, some of them can’t speak English but know all the lyrics and are singing along. There was a group of friends who had travelled 200 miles to come to the show in their Nasty By Nature tees. The whole experience was really inspiring and I definitely got to send a shout out to Smack for treating us like Jay Z out there!

Where’s Griminal  gone?

Griminal has been working on his album which will have the best of the old Griminal that everyone in the grime scene has been missing.

  Finally what’s  instore for the rest of the year?

  I’m just about to shoot the video for my next single on No Hats No hoods             called Big. I’m going to be releasing more singles throughout the year as well   as expanding the Nasty By Nature clothing range. I’ve got 3 snapback design coming out on the 30th April.

When i started it I never realised it would be so popular so we’ve gone away and stepped up the quality and range of stuff were going to be doing.

Urban Nerds celebrate five years of crazy line-ups in London, as they pull out all the stops to hand pick a diverse set of underground UK bass, dubstep, grime and funky acts on one of our broadest cross-sections of talent yet… To mark the five year, they are returning to the sound they started of with in 2007… Grime.
